Bear Den Tours

Bear cub

The Black Bear Den Tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness wild Black Bears in their natural habitat, the largest forest east of the Mississippi, the North Maine Woods. This unique adventure will begin at a traditional Maine lodge where you will dine on Maine Lobster and Prime Rib. Members of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Maine bear guiding community will join us to discuss in an inviting and comfortable setting the topic of Maine’s black bears – their behavior and the environment in which they live.  Guided by Registered Maine Guides you will be transported to a wild Black Bear den to observe DIF&W’s bear research team, led by Randy Cross, on one of their scheduled visits to a den to check on some of Maine’s radio collared bears.
